Columbia PA Is A Great Small Town To Visit And To Live In

Columbia, PA, on the banks of the Susquehanna River, is one of the top 20 small towns to visit in 2014 according to Smithsonian Magazine.

This recognition may have come as a bit of a surprise to some in our region, particularly those who have not visited in the last 10 or more years.  However, Columbia is moving forward with improving it's picturesque downtown, has built a riverfront park, and has the National Watch and Clock Museum which is a must-see for anyone with an interest in time-keeping.
Like many riverfront towns, it historically has had a wide variety of income earners, and the local housing stock reflects this -- from very modest row homes to historic mansions in the Chestnut Street historic district.  As a result today's Columbia remains home to a diverse population.  I often show property in Columbia, in part because it is one of the most affordable communities in Lancaster County, and every time I go I see something new to admire.
It has a really beautiful bridge across the Susquehanna River too.
If you're considering a move, consider Columbia.  It offers something for everyone, with a small town feel.  You can get more information on the borough's official website:
