8 Things To Know About Working With Movers

WRITTEN ESTIMATE  1. Have the prospective mover do a walk though of your house so they can see all the
                                   items that need to be moved and have them give you an estimate in writing.
INSURANCE              2. Make sure to ask if they have insurance and what it covers.
RATES FOR THE JOB 3. Check what their rates include-are they hourly per person or is it a rate per team?
                                   Are there extra charges for fuel, wait time, packing material, etc.?
PAPER WORK           4. Make sure you get a bill of lading-it will list everything that is to be moved. 
RIGHTS                    5. Movers must provide a pamphlet titled "Your Rights and Responsibilities when you
                                    move"
SUPERVISE              6. Make sure you or someone you trust supervises the packing and moving.
STORAGE                7. Many movers will store your stuff temporiarily if you ucan't move in to your new
                                   home right away.
Gratuity                  8. While you are not obligated to pay extra for good service-a little extra kindness for a
                                  job well done goes a long way!
